Pigeon Talk

Olive and Skittles have bonded as a pair as of today, and have been preening each other.

Olive was a contented single bird for a long time, but started laying a monthly clutch of eggs last November and since then spent 3 weeks a month sitting tight with few breaks. I didn't think that was very good for her. I hope with a companion, when he/she is a bit older anyway, they will take turns brooding and she wont be stuck doing it all alone.

Let the young birds out yesterday for the first time. They all just chilled on the roof the entire time but glad I didn’t lose any to hawks or my cat so I figured that was a plus 😂 also anybody know what color this single bird would be considered?

Very typical YB behavior, IMO. :)

Re single bird color -
Check out Adam Archer's YT videos on Indigo and Andalusian color genetics.
He is also launching a new site, Pigeon genetics.com.

I will for sure, I have watched a few of his in the past and have been very helpful but I didn’t no he was launching a new site! I thought it could be Andalusian but was curious if it was the correct term. Thank you!

I noticed a new pair of eggs in one of my pairs nesting area. The following day, there were 3! Then 4, then 5, then 6!
This morning I discovered the culprit…. One of my serama hens has been sneaking through the netting between the serama and pigeon pens. She was sitting on the eggs. :lau

(I’ll move her and her eggs this evening)
