Yep, I think they're pretty much done with that thing.

As for my biddies, we aren't sure, yet. Depending on how much work has to be done, we may have to rent a hotel to stay in for a while, we aren't sure.

Hey, sorry for lack of updates here! I've been stressing over a few things this week and just haven't had the camera out when I've been sitting with the babies. I've also neglected their play time a couple days over the past week, and I feel so bad for it. But they seem alright and they're just as excited for their play time every time, anyway! I had them out yesterday and they were up to their usual antics. Elda has figured out how to fly out of the brooder entirely--I looked up from where I was sitting across the room a few days ago and she was perched on the fence around the brooder! And I mean the 3-foot fence, not the short tarp wall that keeps their bedding in! But I'm kind of looking forward to having a little birdy wake me every morning like Rangi did.

Anyway, here is Elda from yesterday's play time. I didn't get pictures of anyone else really, but tomorrow they are 3 weeks old (and the Legbars are 4 weeks old or so) so I'll be sure to get updated pictures of everyone!

Look at all the feathers Elda's growing in!! She's looking more and more beautiful every day!

Alright, here are the babies at 3 weeks old!

Elda! Look at that face!

Kit-kit! This is the only picture I got of her alone, and she was preening, so she's kind of posed weird.

Louise! She ALWAYS turns her head when I try to get a picture of her!

Mabel! Getting some strong suspicions about "her"...

And Georgette, who, well, at this point I am sure should be rightfully named George. :/

The Legbars are about 4 weeks old today. Neither wanted to cooperate, so the only picture I got of Poppy was of her dust bathing, and the only pic of Violet was of her sitting with her grumpy face on.

Poppy! She's starting to get pins on her head where her crest should be!!

Anyone wondering about my suspicions about Georgie, here's why. 'She' poses like this a lot, especially if I alarm the group. The others kind of duck down, but not Georgie. 'She' also is starting to get some reddish hackle feathers already.

'She' is also huge next to Louise, who is the same breed and age, and 'her' feet are massive in comparison to Louise's:

And, well, 'she' is just acting an awful lot like Po and Hika Ma did last year. :/



Anyway, lookie what I did today! The brooder's now roughly twice the size it was before! (Don't mind the picture quality. The camera didn't want to flash on the setting I had it on, and it didn't do well. It made the water look pretty nasty, too... )

When I first put them back in there, they were totally lost! Then, they had a nice preen.

And, of course, I couldn't complete a post without some Elda love. She thought I was opening the gate up for play time, but I had it open to take pictures.

Cuddles! Cuddles whether Elda wants them or not! (She was fine, she just was wanting to explore the bare carpet more than she was wanting to cuddle. )

Yeah... AUGH! But I suppose, as long as 'she' behaves (I really don't want to call 'her' a him... ), then I don't mind. Especially since we lost my little guy, Po. We'll see, I guess. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and 'she' is just a particularly manly pullet...

And whoa-ho-ho, I saw that! I'mma reply, but I'm gonna go to bed afterward, because cleaning and expanding the brooder wore me out. (Which reminds me that I forgot to put the fence up outside AGAIN for their first trip outside in the coming weeks! Oi!)

Okay, today, I decided I was having too hard of a time telling Elda from Kit-kit, so Elda got herself a bracelet! I don't have as hard of a time telling them apart in person, but in pictures, it was just impossible!

I couldn't find my zip-ties, so it's a string tied so it won't tighten any further. Here is Elda, unwillingly modelling her new style (she really wanted down on the floor, not in my hand ).

Not everyone got individual pictures, and some of them that did din't pose very nicely, but here they are. Kit-kit being a sweetie-pie.

Mabel, oh Mabel, I just have a bad feeling...

Poppy, who was particularly photogenic today.
