My main dude could fly as well easily without my efforts. Only real advantage of training is that when I called, it sped his flying down from tree back to roost. He can really crank for short flight needed to elude dog but endurance needed for longer flight has not been demonstrated. He does trim out nicely and appears to fly faster than red jungle fowl but he does not have anywhere near the manuevering ability.

Pullet that survived initial attack I will attempt to salvage. She is in garage for night. May have to rehome her if she is mamed as my setting too tough for grounded bird to survive.

Not a single dom tried to fly to an elevated location even though they were present and reachable by even the limited capacity of doms. Doms just ran around with some attempting to hide. Brains appear to be major area in need of revision.

OMG, that's horrible! Sorry to hear about your loss and I hope the dog will be cared for sooner than later, never know when he might come back for more! I'm glad to hear that there are some smart pit owners around!

No trainng to fly into tree. He did that naturally. Training helped with calling him back in faster than he would otherwise come down. He is kind of like a dog in that way.

Could be called a lap chicken.

oh ok i see so you trained him to come down on comand ? thats cool what breed is he ?

Survival of the fittest in action.

Have you dispatched the dog? I would think if it had bitten a kid, the authorities might be looking for him anyway. Pits can be wonderful pets or dangerous adversaries. It all depends on breeding and the people who are supposed to be in charge of the dog.

Good luck with your breeding program. I hope the loss of the pullets didn't set you back too much.

Man, I don't think I'd have tried to bluff that dog! You're lucky he didn't take you on...you would have had a real fight on your hands.

Based on dogs history, I may have right thing. He attacked a kid trying to run away. My bluff was a bluff until called. I had no where to go and getting bit in backside is without merit.

Dog not dealt with yet to my knowledge but two other parties no state it needs to be done. It is a repeat offender with likely more than 3 strikes.

Pit bulls were given a bad name. It's not the dogs fault it's the owners. I say do what needs to be done because the owner's are not capable of taking care and training THAT dog.

It's really to bad the dog needs SSS because of the owners. I think we should SSS the owners then they couldn't get anymore dogs. lol

I watched a Pit Bull for a friend of mine. He was over a year old and I didn't know him that much so on the first night we had him I thought I would take him for a walk and get him tired. We lived in a small town and I thought no one will mess with me because of the dog. Well if someone would have seen the dog when we walked past a church and he saw himself in the glass. He jumped back and went behind my legs. He was so afraid of himself. I just started laughing and I had to tell him I would PROTECT him. He was a great dog, I made sure he knew for the 2 weeks we had him, I was the leader not him and he was great. I have on a tape somewhere where my 4 year old went in his cage and the dog pushed the door closed on him. It was so funny I had to show the owner because he didn't believe me and I was lucky to get it on tape. I should have put that on America's funnyest Videos.

But anyways I sorry the poor dog will be put down if not by you by someone else because of his bitting the child.

A child in the dog's crate? You're lucky it didn't make the evening news.
