hello!
I have an egg in an aquarium with a metal mesh top, temp is around 100°F and humidity is at about 50%.
When turning the egg by hand I noticed that there was a circular crack in the egg as if it had tried to break through but it did not create a hole, or pip. I immediately put the egg back in the incubator and waited, it’s the third day since I’ve noticed this and when I looked in today there was another circular crack higher up like the first, had not broken through.
I am new to this and I am very concerned my chick is unable to get through and is drowning/suffocating (I do not know how old the egg is). It is not making any noise but the baby is still alive. Could this be because low humidity? Please help!

You need higher humidity. Aim for 70%.

If it’s had a hole for days and it’s past day 21 of incubation I would help

Thank you for your reply. There is no hole just a crack that is not open. How can I get a higher humidity?
