Lol! Can a bird get drunk? I'm writing a forum on that.

My dad thinks he could have a heart attack if we do that. He says as long as he acts normal and he is not loosing weight we should just keep an eye on him.

Oh okay well if you cannot get it out how’s about getting it down. Cold....coconut oil in pea sized balls? Or oiled soaked treats?

Yes, they can. I know the bird sanctuary rescue people put a little whiskey, or vodka in little bottles of probiotics, and give the birds a drop, or a few drops depending on the size of the bird. It helps calm them down, so they can be transported to the sanctuary more easily.

The problem with not removing it is, that it could cause infection, or be dislodged, and cause further problems down the road.

I have thought about that. He likes the mini marshmallows and I think that may just be enough to squeeze it down.

If it’s a organic/food item that’s one thing.
If it’s plastic/metal that’s another.
IMHO if I had to man handle and possibly stress a bird I’d rather do it will it’s relatively healthy. I don’t know if the
Obstruction is not allowing him to eat. Dunno waiting till a bird starts loosing weight...just would not be my personal choice. But that’s just me.

If you are able to handle him enough to open his mouth to take pictures of it, then it should not be overly difficult to go one step further, and try to remove it.

He is eating his normal amount of food and acting normal.

I just had him call. When he call he opens his mouth really wide and I take the pics. I did not have to hold him at all.
