Broody is genetic, not specific to layer feed.
Silkies are the broodiest by far.

Such fun to break a broody hen! Getting pecked to death to get them off their nest!

I agree. Feed is not going to make a hen broody. Some breeds are just more broody by nature. I can only speak for my own experiance, but bantams tend to be more broody than standard breeds and large heritage breeds tend to be more broody than other standards. The very high count laying breeds like leghorns almost never go broody. We have found our cochins to be the broodiest of the breeds we raise.

I've read several times that Sultans never go broody but we've got one setting now, so goes to show every bird is different.
