Please tell me this is not a rooster!

It CAN happen in some species, but birds are not one of them. A hen can have issues with her ovary (they only have 1) and develop male secondary sex characteristics, they will get the rooster feathering, enlarges comb, and even sometimes crow, however they ARE NOT roosters, they cannot breed a hen and fertilize eggs.

Ok, I'm not 100% about all of it. Maybe they do just develop the characteristics of the other gender, but being fertile or nor does not mean they aren't male. Human men that are infertile are still men biologically.

I love your avatar btw.

Cockerel - Male chicken under one year of age. Over one year, they are called rooster, cock, or cockbird.

OP, you definitely have a cockerel on your hands, and a beautiful one at that! I'd list him (with a picture) on Craigslist or at your local farm store. Just don't ask questions when you find him a home. He might become someone's dinner, or he might go on to live a happy life out in the country where he can cock-a-doodle-do to his heart's content.
