POLL: How much do you pay for a 50# bag of feed???

MoonGoddess
Are you around the Sedona area? It's weird how a bunch of new agey yuppies can come in to a place and the prices sky rocket!!

We're about 16 miles from Sedona. Yes, that is an outrageous place, for more reasons than many people will ever realize. For the most part, farming and such 'filthy little hobbies' are beneath Sedonans (from what I've experienced, that is). The bunch of uppity up's. There are no feed stores in Sedona, you see........must be the vortex, I'm thinking? LOL (no offense, anybody!!)

I am in a big city Austin, TX and I pay a little less than $10 for 50# layena and $8 for scratch. But organic is another story, has anyone bought organic feed in Austin? How Much is it? Oh, I just got an idea for a new post!

No offense taken. You'd think I'm part of that particular counter culture as I think similarly in many ways, however any culture that gets so far away from the TRUE nature of life, kinda makes me want to hurl. I think Sedonans are living with theirs heads popped into the desert sand they love so much.

In all honesty, I'll take the deep south anyday. People may think I'm sorta weird there...and just a flakey hippie, but at least they are all REAL. It's a shame, because I DO think Sedona is a very high energy place. They sort of vampirically ruined that in my opinion though. Now it is another of those"nice place to visits, wouldn't want to live there" Sad. The rock formations out there are stunning... At least that can't THAT away. The view will still always be breathtaking.

What an interesting thread. Sure makes me glad I live in the rural farm sticks.... feed and DE seem to be less expensive, even certified organic.

Just a thought, with corn being used more for fuel, plan on all feed costs going up, if you haven't already seen it. Like I said, we pay $9.50 for 50# of Purina Layena and $10.50 for 50# of certified organic layer mash here in NE Ohio. But that price is 50 cents for 50# higher than what we were paying last autumn. I had to buy more feed yesterday and the guy at the mill said prices will most likely be going to go up again soon.

OK I can't even get organic food here in Northeast Arkansas and I'm pretty sure they would laugh their heads off at the feed store if I asked about it! What is the point of organic food when the cotton famers' planes fly over the house every day spraying chemicals onto eveything in their path. I paid 10.58 for my last bag of regular chick starter.
