Yeah that's kind of what I thought too, that the seller would do everything they could to get the eggs up here safely. I didn't have any communication from him at all prior to discovering my frozen eggs in the mailbox
The seller basically said that it was as much my fault for ordering eggs when I live in Maine. This being my first time ordering eggs before, I guess I didn't know any better? I had thought that an egg seller selling year round would be aware of winter? As for picking up at the post office, apparently that was my fault too:
" I can't be responsible for special instructions like holding at post office or adult signature required. When people want that they usually leave instructions with payment."
Again, I didn't know that I had to be specific, I'd just assumed it would be commonsense to demand post office pick up. But, live and learn I suppose. The seller did agree, without any argument, to refund the cost of the eggs (not shipping) as of today.
The good news is that I have more eggs from a much more reputable seller coming soon, so this sad story might have a happy ending after all. I'll keep everyone posted on that!
