My baby bardrock chick named rex started showing signs of wry neck at two weeks when she began to get a bit tired/off balance and had a slight hunchback.
I didn't notice till she was three weeks old and one day her neck was bent like a horse shoe. Her neck wasn't so bad that she couldn't eat or drink though unlike some cases of wry neck I've heard about which was good.
I tried to separate her but that only made her incredibly stressed out so I kept her in with her three sisters but I'm not sure if that was a good idea.
I've been feeding her and her sisters vitamin E and selenium for a little over a week now, making sure Rex gets as much as possible but I've seen no improvement.
I told myself that was ok cause at least her neck wasn't any worse until I realized her eyes looked dull and lifeless, her comb wasn't growing like the others and same with her feathers.
I picked her up to see if she was alright and she freaked out.
She tumbled around in my hand unable to balance herself and then she jumped off and then rolled around on the ground like a potato.
She's now incredibly exhausted from all the excitement and isn't moving around much.
I don't have very high hopes for her. I worry that either she isn't eating or she has serious digestive issues and can't absorb the minerals she needs.
I sadly can't take her to the vet, I can't afford it and I don't have any vets near by that treats birds.
I'm going to try and start giving her magnesium, vitamin A and more selenium.
I'm also going to make sure she eats and drinks regularly.
Does anyone know what type of vitamins or food I should be giving her and how much?
