Chicken keeps going into the egg box and sits for 30 min. And doesn' t lay egg. She is a regular every day layer. Hasnt laid in 3 days. Seems fine otherwise. Is eating and comb is red. Is she eggbound?

How old is your gal? What breed?

Is her tail bobbing when you see her? Is she pooping?

If she is pooping then she probably isn't egg bound... or at least it isn't life threatening right this minute.

I think she is an Asian black. She eats layer crumbles. She has access to oyster shell and her own crushed egg shells. She is 15 months old.

I have people calcium 600 mg with d3. Does that work and should I still give it to her when she has access everyday to calcium.

Yes that will work...I would give her one pill daily for a few days to see if that helps.

Eggbound hens will get sick looking. Often hunched up. If she's acting fine I wouldn't worry about it. It is getting late in the season. Could be she's starting to slow down.
