Post Phoenix Pics Please

Manderz what do you have in blue maybe in the fall?...I only have 1 blue hen left...It dont have to be a finished bird...Just as long as it has longtail in it so it want take me forever to get my blues back...Just a thought... Maybe something on the small side too?....If not no big deal I was just thinking out loud..I'm thinking Aubrey maybe has a few blues also?...Like I need another project.....Gee I need my head checked...I'm still trying to get more duns also..I finaly have a few of those this year....You look like you have lots this year?..Maybe the most you have ever had???......TM

A question about colors. We have a pair of golds which is something I am confused about. From what everyone says, there is no such thing as a golden hen, they are supposed to be silver in the hackle and everything. The hen we have has a color inbetween silver and a light light brown hen, she has always had a dark brassy color which is a good way to describe it. Anyway, we bred her to our golden rooster (out of the silver hen and a golden rooster) and have been getting nothing but cockerels. The main question here is that we have gotten 3 colors from them- golden, poor silvers with leaky color, and light brown. I was worried that we had lost light brown since the normal light brown hen died over the winter but now it is popping up again. For pullets, I just have silver pyle (red breast but white everywhere else) and silvers. From mating one of the light brown cockerels to the silvers it should be sexlinks so I could get light brown again, the pyles will be a fun project since they came from the recessive white cockerel but the pyle is normally from dominant white on light brown/golden/silver.

Anyway, I might be looking for some light brown bantam eggs soon or some started birds this fall.

It is still to early for me to know.. I won't cull until I know exactly what I am dealing with on the blues and blacks.. I desperately want to get them producing solid colored roos. I was really hoping the geman blacks would of produced solid roos.. As you know that is a chore.. So I am currently setting all the eggs from the young roos out of the black roo to see if I can get homozygous melanizers on them and have solid color.. I know what you mean about projects.. Some of mine, i won't work with, I will just get them started and move them on.. I do have quite a few offspring this year.. I don't think it is the most I have ever had, but it is more color than I have ever had.. Working on the duns too.. and dun barred.. As well as some creles some other folks have requested..

LOL...Yes there is a golden hen.....No I dont have any of those any more...I still have a few phoenix that has the hybrids way in the back ground....Will W. Is the person to talk hybrids with....TM

OK< curious.....
Did you ever cross the f1's to each other? What were the colors like on the offspring if you did? Thanks..
Also, is anyone working on mottled phoenix?
Were you wanting solid blue or blue in conjunction with something else (blue duckwing for example) ?

haha, just got on and saw the pic at the top of this page without seeing the quote and said wow that looks just like the hen I got from Toni-Marie the other day! haha it was..... Yep she it very beautiful, and laying her butt off. Been getting about 6 eggs a day from those silver Ismer's Toni... they went right to it after about a day or two of settling in, so did all the others too.

Amanda, I'm not currently working on mottled in phoenix, but will pretty soon with some of the birds I got from Toni. That as well as spangled and mille in both phoenix and ohiki.

Toni, Got any pics of mottled phoenix? Would love to see one.. Even if it is just adolescent pics.. I am wondering about juvenile feathering coloration..
Or maybe you have some photos of your mottled Aubrey? Thanks.
