Post Phoenix Pics Please

silver duckwing that came from birchen parents. Those parent birchen came from a birchen to duckwing cross, thus the F1 duckwing babies. Those then bred to the barred flytie .. This particular male came straight from Toni. But the ones I bred here on my own from the outline above have came out just like them. All the hens from Toni's male as well as the males I have made here also come out looking just like the girls pictures.

Bred the pictured male above to my black girls and just get a clean cuckoo our of that of course...

on my d'anvers, the blue cuckoos I have made alos come out like you were saying, barred just in the sex feathering on the males

he's only single factored barred though

now on the dun based cuckoos, they come out normal for barring

again, this ones just single factored, but is barred as a normal SF male would be

So you could be on to something with what you were saying above...

Finally got the pens separated. Haven't seen the roo breeding or trying to breed. I'm worried that none of the eggs will be fertile. Of course I'm not watching them 24/7 so I just hope I have some.

It doesnt take but one shot to fertilize a hen for a few weeks. Best bet is set them and check them in 4 days. Course you can crack one open and look for the ring too.

congrats, the ol girls finally's getting some phoenix! Once you warm your mom up to them , which shouldnt take long, I'll be happy to help you out with some more. Got bantams in about every color under the sun, and really nice large fowl German imports in 2 distict lines.
Glad you decided to get you some though, you'll love them I know

Thanks everyone for the pictures. It's giving me the itch. I really, really want some Phoenix.

Is there a site somewhere that has pictures/names of all the colors they come in? So far of the ones I've seen, I'm really loving the red splash and the Black Schubert.

Any reason these couldn't be mixed in with a regular large-fowl small laying flock of about 7-9 hens?

And given that the above answer is "no", who's got eggs for sale?

my site has 200 or 300 pics of them. The colors are listed above each picture. It's the same as my user name.
In most collections, they only come in white and the 3 duckwing colors. Only specialty longtail breeders will have them in anything else. So public sites like Feathersite will not have much outside the normal 4 standard type colors.

No you can mix any of them together. You just cant call the offspring by a line name after that. But they make really good crosses to American stock, and certainly add in new totally unrelated blood to them. I have both the Ismer and Schubert lines, as well as tons of bantams and use the imports in the bantam crosses all the time.
Yes , I sell eggs every week from them too, as well as day olds. Will be happy to get some up for you. The import lines are laying well now too as well as most of the bantam ones. If the Schuberts are what you are wanting, pretty sure you gone have to get them from me. No one else has them for sell. Amanda has some nice red splash if you want those. I have a few in bantam, but not selling any yet, still working on my own supply on them here.
