Post Phoenix Pics Please

Yes I have a few right now. Been working a good bit on dominate white based colors this year, should have some nice pyles in duckwing and birchen next year as well as some dominate white based gingers.

yes on your out cross, doesnt matter sex wise, but seeing how you have a lot of males, put one of them over a red pyle hen.
The first cross should be about 50/50. Pick the best tyed and colored pyles from that and keep back crossing to bb red phoenix til you get the type right. You should be about 50/ 50 pyle and bb red on each cross til you finally start crossing pyle to pyle. That first cross will make some bb reds too, but the pyles from that will then breed true from there on. It atkes several yaers to finish up.

Now for the splash, you do know once you clean up the color a bit, they look pretty much identical to red pyles right? You cant call them that of course, but the look if about the same. The double dose of blue diltues the reds just like dominate white does. and bred splash to splash, the color will breed true for you.
I don't have a pyle hen. Looking at my photos do you think I should use one of those hens (I only have 2 hens which I bought, one looks like a silver & blue golden with a hint of red)? or should I use one of my bbred hen?

Can you explain to me what splash is supposed to look like ?
I am kind of lost on splash

you were talking about out crossing to old english to make red pyle, that what I was saying to do IF you wne that route. A good red splash will look just like a red pyle though, with a few possible blue spots in the white.
It can vary bird to bird and isnt as clean as a true red pyle in most cases, but it's very close. Think Amanda has posted several various splash birds in the past on here.

on yours, if you want to contiune with splash, then yes use the ones you just got.
Splash to splash breeds true, or if you want to improve the lines. Brred them to a good bb red, you'll get blue reds from that, pick the best ones and breed them together, 25% will be splash from a blue to blue mating

yes depending on how you breed them

splash to splash - 100% splash

splash to blue = 50% each
splash to black = 100% blue

then with those

blue to blue = 50% blue and 25% each black or splash

blue to black = 50% each

A
little roo that popped out this year.
He's probably only 1/4 phoenix. His mother is a BBred modern game hen... I think
I forget

ANYWHO! I somehow got a ginger out of my phoenixes

Next I produced a silver from BBreds, She has white on the wings... Explaination? Normal?
I'm thinking she's going to into a he on me in a few weeks hahaha

Here's picture of another one of the cockrels from our first hatch, strange coloring too (to me anyway) his chest looks like his wing feathers they're back but edged with white, and his tail has traces of white too. still trying to learn the breed, and fancy chickens in general just started with them with my son now I'm hooked. thanks in advance.
