Is that box on the left of the pic a nesting box or a dust bath? I was just thinking how neat a dust bath area it would be because the high sides would keep the ash from flying all over.

It's actually an old step that led to a slide, which we turned into a nest box. We also have an old bread box that we turned into a nest box in the corner of the front window. It would have made a good dust bath area, but the girls decided they liked it as a nest box! We have a barrel outside that they use for dust bathing.

I'm sooooo depressed!!! My neighbor was supposed to show up today to dig my 14 post holes and then we were going to set them in with quik-crete, level them out, etc. He called a while ago that he is unable to do it today and will come over tomorrow........I painted all the posts yesterday, cleared the area for the run, raked, etc. Been sitting outside telling my 4 little ladies that "today we start the run!" .... NOT! If I wasn't 70 years old I'd attempt the post holes myself but know I'd drop dead after the first two.....life goes on...and on...and on....

UPDATE: Well, we finally got all the posts set and concreted in...WHEW! Temps that day were just awful, got a sunburn, but I got my posts in!! YAY!

Next will be putting all the 2 x 4's on top and bottom and then it's hardware cloth time...WOOT!

My aunt and uncle used to live in Chipping Camden and I spent summers with them hiking old Roman roads that was a hobby of his. Love stone walls and homes that keep their history!
