I'm sorry if my questioning the genetics is a pain but I have a genetic disorder that the effected genes can not be isolated even by some of the best doctors in the country. I can not locate the gene or genes responsible but see the results everyday. So I have lots of questions. I may not be able to figure me out but I think I might be able to figure out this chicken. lol. Thanks for your response.
I'm not talking about my flock, I'm talking all Serama's. There has never been a confirmed Dun in Serama's....ever. Serama's seem to have just about every other gene that is known in poultry, lol.....but no Dun. What I said about white is that because they are white, does not necessarily mean they have to be linked to dun as well. Dominant white is linked to the duns but recessive white is not known to be and most of the Serama's I've known of in the past, were all recessive whites.

I had Serama's for several years and was a member of the SCNA before they all split off into smaller groups and there were tons of Serama colors discussed and photo's. Jerry has just about any color you could imagine....but not a single Dun. I have asked in the past, for evidence of even one single Dun Serama....not one single bird....none in all the years I studied the colors in the breed.
We could discuss this until the cows come home but I would suggest you breed to black so you can finally see what I mean....there is no Dun in Serama's. The cocopop coloring is based on pumpkin genetics and has a dilution effect. I can't explain it any clearer. What you have is a classic pumpkin diluter there. It's obvious but I understand you will need to breed it to know for yourself. I've already been there and done that but I can see that I'm not getting anywhere with you. That's okay though, I had to prove it for myself too.

I think the reason you are not getting anywhere with me is because you seem to think you are trying to convince me the bird is not dun. I have agreed repeatedly the bird is not dun but you seem to not be able to let it go and move the conversation forward. The pumpkin color being a diluter makes since, it did the first time you said it. I see that in the birds.Recessive white rather than dom. white is interesting. As far as the question of what color is showing up on the white pullet I guess you don't have any idea either other than its not dun.

Hatched my first Dun chick of the season. My dun Sumatra cockerel over my silver duckwing Araucana hen that is tailed. Working on a dun silver duckwing, Sumatra in type that will later have Fibro genes added. I just put a young Cemani pullet, pea combed, in with my Dun Sumatra cockerel. She's at least a month from the age of laying but this cross will give me some FM duns to work into the dun silver duckwings next. I figure a couple of years to get them correct at least.

I need a Dun bird with white skin for a project, any ideas on what I could use? Preferably bantam, or small LF.

Do OEGB have white skin?

OEGB were the only bantams that come to mind that have dun. The only other breeds with dun that is bantam is the Polish and the bantam Sumatra.
In Europe, I think there is Dun in more breeds. In LF, the only duns I am aware of are in the Sumatra's (still very rare but I'm picking up 2 black Sumatra hens for this cockerel this week) and Cinnamon Sussex are like the Coronation Sussex but their coloring in the hackles is Dun.

How small a bantam are you wanting?

Those were the breeds that I had thought of, too. I have a source for Cinnamon Sussex nearby, just wasn't sure how long it would take to breed away from the Colombian phenotype, I want solid colored birds...

Not teeny bantams, bantam Orps to be more specific.

I have them in BBS, Choc, & Mauve right now. I want to work Dun into my line so I can have Platinum (as opposed to Lavender, ew), and maybe Beige one day.
