Post Your Coop Pics

Wow, love it!!!!!

I made both sides of the coop hinged, and lined the floor with linoleum.

the small window and "shutters" is a small door so I can access food and water without disrupting the litter.

I still have the 6 hens, but gave away the rooster.

Since this picture, I painted the wood, and added 2 nest boxes in the back of the coop. Over the winter I added a lightbulb over the water, so I am still getting 5-6 eggs a day.

Here's the coop my husband built for me. Well, for our chicks and me! Their coop is on the left side, it's 5 x 5, and they have the run under the coop and the length, which is 16'.

I had my husband make this simple roosting bar that I can move around or remove for cleaning.
I have a movable next box just inside this door on the right. I take it out at night because they
have not learned NOT to roost on it and poop in it!

Their pop door slides into the wall. The upper part that is not painted has since been cut
out for more ventilation.

And, my roo Mr. Big

What a nice looking coop and run area, PeepsAreForMe!! This is the "feel" I'm going for in building my "hen space". I still get people asking me why I'm building it for only 4 hens (that's all that's allowed here). I just think that they don't get it. Maybe when it's all done they will. Looks Great!!

Thanks! I'll pass the compliment along. Your's is adorable! I'm guessing the people questioning you don't have chickens . . . it is great piece of mind knowing that they are safe from predators and the elements. I originally had them in a little prefab coup and was constantly worrying during storms. Here's what they moved from:

I was also tired of bending over to clean it out! Their new one is much easier to clean.
