PPBA Stockton California show

Ok, I'm packed. The dogs are packed. The chick for Laurieks is packed. The chick sitter has her checklist. Next stop is to drop the old dog off at his sitters, hit the bank then heading out for the Quality Inn (who will allow me, my young dog AND Laurie's chick a room). No need to stop at Starbucks, I'm so excited! See you all tomorrow, I'll be the one saying "Open! Open! Open!" ala the Mervyn's shopper at the sales pen. Safe travels all! This is gonna be a hoot!

Hrmmmm, maybe I'll switch to Quality Inn... mine says no pets but they don't mean chicks, right? If my roo is sold I can leave Saturday, I think.
Save Journeys all!

I'll see you all tomorrow!

Everything is all packed in my car (including two cages in the back) and I'm almost ready to go! Good thing, because if I don't get to bed soon I won't be getting much sleep. Getting up at 4:30 AM and leaving before 5 AM! I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight to begin with, though--I'm so excited!

Hoorah, I can't wait to meet you all! I'm not sure what I'll be wearing aside from blue shorts and possibly a beige raincoat (I have no chicken shirts! I need one!) but I'll introduce myself at the gathering.

So excited! This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait to see all the birds and take pictures and bring home a few new additions to my flock, as well as talking chickens with everyone of course.

Anyone who wants some serama eggs at the gathering at 2 PM, I only have three or four, but they're from nice parents and so far hatching has been pretty successful. My roo seems to be very fertile!

I just want a few dollars for them, or I might give them away for free. They're only a couple days old and I'll be gentle transporting them for the best chance of hatching.

Well, not much else to say--I'll see you all there! I wish you all the best of luck in finding the bird(s) you want at the sales, and if you're not going to be combing the sales, best of luck with your showbirds, or just enjoy the show!

So I don't know about anyone else but I sure did have a great time! Came home smellin of chicken too lol. We were so happy to get back home to our chickens and let them out. After seeing some of the chickens they were showing we for sure want to show a few of our girls next chance possible. Even though out Buff Orpington has a tiny speck of trim paint on her, she is waaay more beautiful than some of the others that were being shown. LOL I swear I'm not biased!

We are happy we bought no birds while we were there. Prices seemed a bit steep for what was available and I think we got there a bit late to get a peek at anything tempting. It was nice to get a good look around and see what I want to get next. Cochins! Wow these were beautiful and huge! We are thinking bout gettin 2 of them once we find someone around the bay area or near that has some. I'm sure one of our fellow BYC'ers has our girls for us lol. Anyways, it was real nice to meet the people who was there at 2 and looking forward to another show!

We sure did have a good time! Met tons of great peeps and had a blast chatting with our BYC friends. Hopefully we'll have a much more organized meeting next year, but I'm even more looking forward to an official BYC NorCal Chickenstock sometime when things dry up!

Here is a pic of our group. Please post where you are in the pic:

I'm over to the right in the blue plaid shirt wearing the glasses!

I had a blast today and it was great meeting everyone! I came home with 3 birds and an incubator. Not too bad, ehh?
