Out of curiosity why does the Orthodox Church celebrate a week later? I’ve noticed it on the calendar but I’ve never really knew why.

this year orthodox easter is a week apart but it can be the same day or even a month apart. I don't know how they calculate it.

My Dad is being discharged and should be arriving at his house in about an hour and a half! Praise the Lord!

Good evening prayer warriors. I'm hoping y'all can join me in praying for my Dad and one of my very sick chickens. My Dad is in the hospital and thankfully has had a better day today. He is really down and out because he spent Thanksgiving and Christmas this past year in the hospital after multiple complications stemming from a kidney transplant. He was really looking forward to celebrating Easter with family and it's not looking like he'll be discharged before early next week. My daughter is his only grandchild and he loves her dearly. At 10 years old, she's not allowed to visit him in the hospital, so taking the celebration to him and spending some time with him on Sunday isn't an option unfortunately.
My other prayer request is for my chicken that's had a tough day. I've been treating her for a week now and it's been like a roller-coaster. The sweetest and best birds always suffer the most or have bad things happen to them.
Thank you! I hope every one has a Easter weekend that's full of blessings and God's loving touch

Hello all, My name is Rebecca, I am a 25 year old mother of two married to my husband for four years. I wanted to start this thread for prayer request and for fellowship I will be posting messages on a regular basis. Bases off what I am learning in my church and in my walk with Christ. Rto give everyone background me I recently found out my husband isn't saved (being saved is being washed in the blood aka having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as ones Savior) not only that but he lost a lot of memory and has been hiding it from me for the last two years. A month ago he asked me to move out for awhile, I came back after five days. He had moved in two another bedroom and later told me he was interested in someone else and wanted a to end our marriage. Through the power of God's love we are still together right now. We have set backs and some advances it's a spiritual battle and I am holding on to God and his promises and asking for his help no matter the out come I am prayer for healing in our marriage and the saving of my husband. I am waiting expecting God to work as he keeps telling me he works in all things. I am lovinh like my life depends on it as we are suppose to. I am not bragging about myself I can't do anything I have accepted that I can only brag on God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. I am by no ways a teacher or leader but I will answer questions or redirect and pray for you.
Will not hide the light that lives in me.

I am so sorry, Rebecca. People can turn around, though it seems impossible just remember God did the impossible and still does. Here cares for you and your husband, he has a speacial plan for this situation. I am praying right now. That your husband would find God and come to know him. That through it all you would find peace, comfort, and courage to tell him about Christ. You are so strong and Gods plans for you are greater than your wildest dreams! Keep your faith Rebecca, and share it!
