I called our petsitters and I have good news!

Gloria's leg has healed TOTALLY over. Its just like her other leg. She still has a limp and probably always will, but its not anything like it was a week ago. She was becoming thin over the past month, she's now eating EVERYTHING, as usual and is becoming quite plump.
Lucy is no longer broody and is now being nice to all the flock. Infact the whole flock was out free ranging today all day... even Gloria. I will give you a more detailed update tomorrow when I actually see Gloria and the rest of the gang.

For future reference... you can use SWAT for horses on wounds and it keeps flies and maggot out of the wounds.

I'm so glad to hear that!! Praying for Gloria's continued recovery and health. She's such a special girl. Just seconds ago I downloaded a picture of our BR chick Bandit and her Buff Sussex buddy Ginger and thought, wow, Bandit looks so much like a junior Gloria!

That's wonderful news! You must miss your flock Can you send your petsitter my way?! Lol We are going away for a week in October, and it will be the first time being away from my flock for more than a night :S I'm nervous!!
