Preppers were right! No toilet paper in the stores due to Coronavirus scare.

Of the many things I have done in my life, I am also a Registered Nurse. In nursing school (10 years ago), they would tell us just to wash good with plain soap and water. Using the anti-bacterial soap, in society in general, was not seen as a positive because it lead to bacteria with greater resistance to our medications. Today, the doctors on TV are also recommending using plain soap and water. Hand sanitizer works for times when you don't have access to soap and water, but I think washing with plain soap and water is still the preferred method.

As to good bacteria on your hands, yes. Anti-bacterial soap kills both good and bad bacteria on your hands. We need the good bacteria to protect us, so I can imagine that kids using only sanitizer would be killing off their good, protective bacteria on their hands and that could lead to an increased chance of bad bacteria getting a hold on their hands.
I use regular soap all the time at home and bathsoap us why I don't understand why hand sanitizer is flying off the shelves when I saw on the news it was making kids sick it held me off in using it

SPAM is originally made in Minnesota, where I am from. I believe it was made to can meat for our military overseas. I actually have toured the plant where SPAM is made when I was a contracting officer for the military (almost 40 years ago). SPAM is not a staple in my diet, either, but I always have a few cans of canned meat (SPAM or other brands) in the cupboard. Dear Wife will cut the canned meat into thin slices and fry it up to use as "bacon" for breakfast. Sometimes thicker slices are used as a meat substitute for a meal. But, in general, it does not play much of role in our diet.

Yes! I always wonder why it became so popular in Hawaii when it was from Minnesota. I believe that is right about it being a military food...I think it was during World War 2.

It is a treat meat! Lol =P

I like to dice it up, fry it, and add it to eggs like bacon as well. It is a cheaper bacon substitute yum!

people are getting so stupid with this whole corona virus stuff they should of been washing hand more regardless of an illness and since its airborne washing hands wont help since people still dont know how to cover their mouths!!
The fact that so many people are just now starting to wash their hands only because of the coronavirus is concerning :th

:old It's hard to change society norms. For many years, I have thought the Japanese greeting of bowing was much better, in terms of hygiene, than our Western manner of shaking hands. I wish we were now talking about bowing to each other in greeting rather than fist bumping or elbow knocking - or whatever they call it - in an effort not to spread the Coronavirus. I'm confident that after this scare passes, we will be back to handshaking as our norm as we prove that we learned nothing.

But maybe some people will continue to use good hand washing hygiene if it becomes part of their habit. I know these days many people that raise chickens are very good at hand washing after tending their birds. It's part of my habit to wash my hands after tending my birds and I really don't even have to think about it. I just do it.

I'm a head-nodder myself, at least that's what my family and close acquaintances all did when I was growing up. Not quite the same as a formal bow but similar. I find myself nodding at neighbors without thinking about it and then realizing they don't "get" it and waving instead.

Omg this is a serious issue thank goodness no one in India use toilet papers we always wash 😂🍐

I don't know why we use toilet paper. I have visited many countries around the world that don't use toilet paper and they seem to do fine. I really don't know what method is more hygienic, but I do know that using toilet paper requires a much better plumbing and sewage system.

Has India been hit with the Coronavirus? I have not heard mention of India in the news.
