I'm a little confused, are you talking about chickens living full time at your stand or bring a few with you for the day to show to customers? Do you have chickens now, at home? Is the stand at your home? It could be a good idea, or a bad one. Some more info would help. Also, you say chicks, but you intend to sell the eggs. Babies, or hens? I wouldn't let people handle babies, personally. Biosecurity is a factor to consider, even with adults.
There is a place I sometimes stop at when I'm out in the delta over here, that has a picnic area attached, and they have a chicken coop by it. You can't really access the coop, but I always take a peek when I stop. So it is a draw, at least for me, anyway. But it is a large permanent building, that sells much more than produce, and I think the owners live on the same (large) property.
