Hi all, we got these chickens about 9 weeks ago making them approx 17 weeks. We were told they were australorps but have since discovered they're not, which is fine. Just wondering about one of them. Being total noobs, just after opinions. Could be a different age to the others, could be just developing faster or it's not a pullet? Not crowing or laying so could just be a wait game! Cheers!

Welcome to BYC! :frow
Both are pullets. What is the colour of their soles? If they are white, they are most likely Australorps. What makes you think that they are not? Does the bird in picture two have white earlobes?
Thank you! We were told if their eyes were brown they were commercial layers and not australorps. I'll have to check their soles!

A quick update! This chicken in question started crowing yesterday. Guess I just needed to wait a week longer 🤣 This photo was taken today

I don't see any male specific traits. Part of me wonders I'd it's a crowing pullet. Definitely could be a cockerel that's just hiding those saddles though. They like to do that sometimes.
