Quail Hatch-a-long

So the first one is out and I've decided to name her Patience, due to the fact that it took a lot of Patience to wait for these overdue babies/baby. It appears that Patience need some Patience because she keeps rolling around the other eggs and pecking at them.

Congrats on patience.
The first one takes forever. But when the rest come it's like boom boom boom.

View attachment 1246760 Well no more have hatched yet so I’ve made a nice area for my single baby. When I first put her under the heat lamp she was shivering so I think it’s not quite strong enough but I can’t get it much closer to her so I put in a heating pad as well and I made a smaller rice and sock heat pad closer to her food and she seems to like that one best... to bad I have to reward it every 30 minutes.... i’m thinking of putting her back in the incubator during the night so that I can sleep well knowing she’s plenty warm. I also think that maybe she will coax the other little ones out of their eggs. Does anybody think that this is a bad idea or should I go for it?

I think it's a good idea. Her peeping should give any stragglers the hurry up. A little mirror is good company if no more have hatched by morning.

Well its been a few days and no more have hatched. I feel bad for my single baby so I take her with me almost everywhere. She is a back sleeper and it terrified me the first few times, they really do sleep like their dead!
Anyway I think I'll give the eggs a day or two more before I give up but I am guessing this is it. I am hoping to start maybe a dozen more in a week or two and hopefully get some company for my little survivor. We'll see how it goes.

A few Bob's that have hatched.

Tennessee reds and some more Bob's still in incubator not dry and still hatching.

I didn't know what Tennessee reds were - just looked them up (what would we do without Google)! They are beautiful quail. Your Bobwhite chicks are gorgeous!

I should have some more Buttons hatching in about 5 days. :fl
