quail with crooked neck

Unless you were shooting in a mirror, it sure ain't a left view...

My little guy is still hanging in there. His neck is still twisting sometimes and he walks backwards and gets it in place again. He eats and drinks with his head completely upside down...weird, but interesting. He's a little smaller than the others but still very plump.

Lavlady does yours have a twisted neck too or just bent to the side? Mine started out as just bent and now it's twisted...

He's not as twisted as yours is, but its really funny to hold him upside down and watch him right his head. (The video link) I picked him out of a bin of 150 chicks, he definitely did not look crooked on day 1...

I must have missed this thread. My quasimodo is injury based wonkiness for about a week. I hope it will improve, but maybe he will always be crooked. However he/she (starting to have doubts whether he is a he as he seems more dotty now) is very cuddly seems happy enough, and is vocal enough when he wants a fuss.

As his friend attacked him after his injury he is currently alone, but Im umming and ahhing about putting him with some active week olds as he overbalances alot so he wont bully them and if they grow up with him they may accept him-is that a good idea or shall I hold off?

Either way nice to see some other crooked birds!

You keep saying "He" you sure about that? Oh yeah I see now, I'm pretty sure that's a she.

I always thought he was a he as from day one you could tell him apart as he would peep all the time up straight, then as he got older it became honks for our attention and a kind of purr chirp (best way I can describe it, just after attempting to dustbath in our t-shirts and settle down for a nap on us). His chest was more rusty and the picture isnt the best but its all the kind of yellow as under his chin, however the dots are becoming more noticeable so maybe I have a noisy hen!
