Raising and Growing Our Organic and Not- So-Organic Foods

would this work for any fungal infection???
The recipe suggestion is from Dr. Axes, titled “Eczema Cream.”

Ingredients:

-1/2 cup of raw shea butter

-1/2 cup of coconut oil (optional: ¼ cup olive oil or almond oil)

-1 tablespoon of local honey

- 30 drops of lavender essential oil

- 8 drops of tea tree essential oil

- optional additions: 5 drops of geranium essential oil and/or 5 drops of myrrh essential oil

Raw Shea Butter:

I paid $9.99 at Sprouts for 7 oz. of raw shea butter. There were a couple of options, but I chose Now Solutions Shea Butter. I was confused about measuring the quantity of raw shea butter into a measuring cup. I thought because 4 oz. equaled half a cup, I would use only ½ the container. I was wrong and am probably the only one in the world who didn’t know that fluid ounces are totally different than weight ounces. I used the whole container.

Coconut Oil:

I used refined Organic Refined Coconut Oil.

Local Honey:

Sometimes local honey can be a little bit more expensive, but it is important because it contains immune-stimulating properties that help the body adapt to its local environment.

Lavender Essential Oil:

Luckily, my mother-in-law Sue Hunkins is a distributor for DoTerra essential oils. I was able to go into her stash and handpick every oil I needed. The best part is she has a book that outlines all the benefits of the oils, including which oils are safe for pregnancy. All oils used have been given the thumbs up when diluted with coconut oil.

Tea Tree essential Oil (or what DoTerra calls Melaleuca Oil)

And Geranium Essential Oil

Yes the info says gut issues ie leaky gut can cause histamine sensitivity.

Geeez, MOREproblems caused by the Standard AMerican DIet.

Were you able to fix or control the situation?
My problems were not caused by the SAD. It's not leaky gut but a different gut issue (I had testing done). Working on it to eliminate, and under control with the right limited diet.

I've eaten pretty healthy most of my life due to my parents not having much junk food around, no sweets (except birthdays, Christmas, and other occasions), no sodas, no sugary cereals, and everything was homemade. So growing up when I did make my own food choices even at age 20, I would make Orange Roughy and green beans.

In the 90s I gave up all factory farmed and CAFO meat, all pork, all cow milk, and I had to get a membership at a health food store to buy cases of soy milk. I don't drink soy milk now.

Started eating organic when it was available, but ate organic bread, and other organic grain products. Probably did have some gut damage from grains. I don't eat any grains now and haven't for 1&1/2 years. Compared to the typical American's diet, I think I've eaten pretty healthy most of my life.

I posted that wondering if your problems could have anything to do with histamine, since I had those same symptoms, plus some.

Used to make kombucha, and it was good and refreshing. I was able to be successful at making sauerkraut, and though I can't eat it I still make it for my husband. Used to make yogurt too. It was baffling eating healthy, making my own fermented food, home grown food, and still had some serious problem!!

More people should do their own own research to figure out what could be wrong. Doctors are useless in my opinion, except for emergency treatments, x-rays, and diagnostic tests. They make the bucks, but you have to do all the work to get healthy yourself. In reality though, they can't be expected to know what is wrong with every person, like they're a little god.

Anyone who wants to eat better, organic, natural whole foods, it's important to give up all grains too in my opinion, and sugar. I don't think grains do anyone's digestive system any good.

While it is always possible my gut is not as healthy as it could be despite efforts to improve my eating and my families, eating seems to be a roller coaster due to influences from outside the home.

I am holding on to histamines as a possible issue.

As well as outright alergies to horses and chickens, of which I have both.

I keep a food log on another forum and so far the finger is pointing at dairy. For example I had a good nite sleep breathing wise ( nite is my worst time) and yesterday was a no dairy day. Will continue to monitor and see if this is repeatable.

As afriend said, once I start down the path of eliminating foods that bother me, I will find more. Meaning as I eliminate the one that bothers me the most, the lesser intolerances become visible.

Im not looking for perfect, but definitely want better than current health.

Hoping your current eating is helping your GI heal. Yes, SAD is not the only cause, just one. THe list of causes was very long.

:goodpost:
I have found all this to be VERY true !!!

We will always have a better outcome based on the effort we put into having better health.

Yesterday I learned that our genes play a part in grain digestion. We as a species are still evolving to digest these better. 4 alleles are involved, at 2 gene location, as I understand it. Each human has 0-4 genes, so the ability to cope with grains varies widely. ANd why some of us have more trouble than another person.

Thru eating Low carb to control weight, I eat far more vegies and of a far greater variety.

Reading Anne WIgman's book were an eye opener---for good health we must eat fresh ( or frozen) vegies every day ALL YEAR ROUND. I especially loved her autobiography.:love

There is a bread made from sprouted grains. Ezekial bread , Ithink its called. I have not made it as I am afraid it will cause a binge. One slice of homemade bread with butter will lead to eating the whole loaf. WHich makes me feel crappy, sick, foggy headed and down right useless. :barnie

stark is have is end of season sale.

Many are half off.

Bought more than I should... but it is an investment in the future. I will sell this to my DH as my mother's day present.:lau

Peaches, nectarines, filbert, plum and more apples. Plum and filbert will need a pollinator- next fall or next year.

4 strands of poly twine is up around the garden. NOw needs pie plates etc for the deer to see.Praying this will keep out the deer. :fl

I have not seen a chipmunk this year though youngest son said he has. Found one hole in the wood that could be a chippie hole. I do like them, pretty happy cute bugger, but a few less than last year would be good.

Looking around at potential bird baths. Seems this is a good way to help the wild birds not destroy fruit on the trees--they are looking for water to drink.

Right now putting out big saucers that go under very large pots.

Eating lunch::drool bacon with kale covered with mustard vinegarette. ( grainy mustard, olive oil, water and braggs vinegar). ( vinegar is a histamine in the gut type)
