Not sure where. 2 1/4 acre somehow fills up quick with chickens and goats. Noticed a mention of comfrey. Really want to try that. You tried that?

@JanetMarie
I didn't know we could grow horseradish in this climate. I've never looked into it but now that I know, I'll have to try planting some. Where did you purchase your original plants?

Nettles.... Are you growing them like a crop or harvesting wild?

:caf
I purchased from a seed company, and the roots were sent directly from the grower. It's a very old variety.

The nettles grow wild in our woods.

Thank you for the details. Tumeric is a pretty yellow, my napkins look pretty after a meal. lol
Drano is not in my cabinets. Rather I try to be thoughtful about what goes down the drain to the septic tank. I dont think our grandmothers used Drano either----it didnt exist.

I dont like using gloves. Somehow I get water inside, usually a tear. Have tried several times. GLad they work for you. I would use them except they only last a few weeks at best for me.

Your potatoes are off to a great start! Pots make potatoes so easy.

The benefit of seed potatos is that they are tested for bacteria and viruses and cannot be sold unless they meet the standards. When I plant using grocery store potatoes I keep that soil separate, just in case something shows up.

Yes parts make it so much easier and leave so much extra room in the garden. Anything I plant must be planted in the garden otherwise it becomes a goat snack so I use any space saving ideas I need. Blue potatoes are awesome. Do love those. And pots make it easier to plant two or three every few weeks. I can see the difference now. I didn’t think about it early enough last year but this year I will try to start my own potatoes with the potatoes I grew this year

I have the same feeling about what goes down my drain which is a second reason I use as many natural products as possible. Gloves don’t last long for me either but I really have no choice. But like I said when it’s bad I do have a 16-year-old daughter. Gloves for everything else with eczema actually can be irritating to the eczema also so I only use the gloves when it comes to water and of course fabric clothes when I’m gardening
I do love Tumeric as a yellow fabric dye best. I’ve tried several different things as far as food in fabric dye and found my favorites for each color. Tumeric Is my favorite yellow but it takes a couple washings to get that smell out.

The bed for the grafted apple trees was the blue potato bed last year. Found a couple potato sprouts, from tiny 1/2 -3/4 inch potatos. No wonder they were missed. lol Replanted in a pot......glad I am not the only one!
