so, Ya, things get a bit tight for a few weeks in the coop

Ok, back to rethinking the nesting boxes- Have any of you seen or use ones like this???
I thought this may be the ticket to making more floor space in the coop- put the boxes on the wall? Capture.JPG

My white leghorns will all try to lay in one box. I've seen 3 in there at once if someone isn't grumbling about it (that is all that fits). If so, and only then, they will lay in another nest.

I see 2 boxes easily accessed with a ledger board. The two on top are surely harder to get in to so probably avoided. Put them all in one single row across or add a ledger board so they can get in there.

That rooster looks young with those size spurs. Do you have fertile eggs / does he do the deed?

I just can't get over how your chickens stay pearly white. Mine have always had dirty backs and scaby combs from my rooster unless I don't have a rooster.
