I think this is the one that laid the first egg - she has been mopey- I used some warm water and rinsed some poo off her hiney, she has a bit of the runs, I washed the water jug and put fresh water ( which I do every 3 days anyway) So, I will just wait for her to work it out I guess.......

A few changes in the coop:
I am switching the hens over to Scratch & Peck's new layer pellets
I am getting 5 more Leghorn chicks and To be the Mother hens 4 White Buff Orpingtons

I always liked Scratch and Peck but the hens wasted so much of the feed. So I used Purina Organic Pellets. BUT NOW! S&P has pellets WOOHOO:wee Organic-Layer-Pellets-Grub-Protein-_-Front-1.png

Do they make a flock raiser blend? I never feed my flock layer blends because I often have underaged (meaning not ready to lay eggs) pullets and the rooster(s) in the same flock. The added calcium in layer feed is damaging to the kidneys of underaged and roosters.
