My Dad was a cop for 38 years. One day I came home and some pictures on the counter so I picked them up to see what they were (I was around 11). It looked like a picture of a pizza until I saw the jawbone in the middle of it. Ohhhhh. "It's an exploded head" I said to myself.

Someone who kills themselves with a gun or rope know what they want and know how to do it. Few gun related suicide attempts fail. Not to go totally off topic but if you try to commit suicide by cutting or overdosing you're just trying to hurt yourself or crying out for help.

I'm sorry Don, I never knew.

I have guns, they are locked up where the burglers can't take them when they rob me the next time I am at out at the grocery store.
I do not worry about defending myself with a gun/etc. Very unlikely that I would need it against a person, and I don't waste my time worrying about "what if" etc. I agree that there's a lot of protecting people from things because they don't use common sense though. But what are we protesting here? People locking thier guns up? Isn't that a personal choice?

That's just one story dude. There are many more. I didn't know the guy but my poor dad had to tell the parents and girlfriend.

We had guns in several places in our house, all loaded and ready to go. My father never once taught me how to use them. My education came from me and my friend taking his dad's guns in the woods when his dad was passed out from drinking. We survived but a few squirrels and bullfrogs didn't.
