The 'likes' are fun and are used for how ever the clicker defines them,
which varies greatly I think.
The 'ovations' were cool because you could also leave a comment,
and the limitation made some folks think before using them.
But both are aimed at 'winning' something.... accruing points/status/whatever.
Not that that's a bad thing,
but negates them as a metric for sorting or true evaluation of content value.
