Recommendations for duck with laryngitis?

That's what I was wondering. But you say otherwise she acts fine?
No other symptoms?

Yup. So far she's still actively keeping up with the other Swedish Blue and I watched her eat and drink this morning and this evening. But the laryngitis just started this morning so I suppose she could decline in the next few days.

Weird cough/sneeze/honk sound is what mine start with when overloaded with worms... I have gapeworm here, and they don't show other signs til breathing becomes compromised, death follows quite quickly after that...

Safeguard (fenbendazole 10%) at 0.23 cc/mL per pound for 5 consecutive days, or Valbazen (albendazole 11.6%) at 0.08 cc/mL for 3 consecutive days for gapes...

Good question! Pretty certain. Her quack was VERY loud and seemed to match the other Swede's quack up until today. We ordered them together as a hatchling female pullets from Ideal Poultry.
Hum. Well. . places do sometimes get it wrong
But if your sure she had a quack before and not just the baby peeping sound then she is a she.
Well. . the acv should be a good place to start. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will chime in. Let us know how she is tomorrow :)

There she is :)
I couldn't remember if it had to be a certain type of med for gapes or not.
Thanks :highfive:

Thanks Ravynscroft! It's very valuable to know that yours did not show the classic signs of gapeworm infestation until the last minute. Sounds like it would be wise for me to order these meds.

Yeah, I thought it was respiratory as well... they proved me wrong... also, many say gapes are rare, but they're not that rare... especially in ducks since gapes are carried by earthworms, snails and slugs... :hmm
