Red Belly black snake!

BUT THEY ARE SO CUDDLY! Look at Kevin’s pic... don’t you just want to hug him??? Yeah, look at the claws... just because it looks cute doesn’t mean it’s friendly or safe! Letting a poor tourist get mauled every now and then wouldn’t be a horrible idea, educational... sorry I had to! I missed that bit while I was moving my cattle, and it’s just so funny because I was telling my husband why I was taking so long to get off the site this morning (I really, really love snakes!) and the whole “everything in Oz will try to kill you... I mean the Koalas even... scary little drop bears” bit was the first thing out of his mouth too!
I know put it this way, I’ve survived here so far... and I mentioned earlier my dad ran over a baby brown in the mower

@Ribh your “friend” is a sick and twisted individual! I don’t know if I could use a handle with a spider in it, NVM a funnel web

Yeah, I know. :) You get used to it. DH was an oyster farmer for a bit. Emptied a bucket of oyster on my kitchen bench one day & all these blue ringed octopus ran out.:barnie

We have black widows here, my husbands grandfather was the first confirmed bite in BC. The spider is still in a museum in Victoria... and like I said vicious garter snakes and something exactly like a garter snake but with a minor difference in the belly scales. There was a Deer that recently attacked some bicyclists on Saltspring island about a year ago... but they were from Pender island so nobody really can blame the deer, or cares much about the people involved...
