Hi all

Some help/advice would be appreciated. Day 7 of incubation maintained temp and humidity within normal parameters. Upon candling eggs I have several that have a distinct red circumferential markings. Can anyone please explain a cause or if this is normal ?? Day seven was the first time incubator has been opened only to candle eggs. Thanks.

That is a blood ring. I am sorry to say that the embryo is no longer viable. :hugsAll of the blood from the vessels have pooled together into the ring.
Appreciate your help is there a particular cause for this to occur? This is my second batch and only this batch has this happened. I am thinking possibly storage of eggs I was rotating once a day prior to incubating. Or could it be caused by auto rotation in the incubator failing ?? Thanks everyone

It could be any one of those things. What is the temp and humidity inside the incubator? How old were the eggs before incubating?

Hopefully you have more viable eggs left to hatch.......

Yes have plenty of others stored eggs up to but no later than 7 days prior to incubating. Humidity between 40-55 and temp 37.5 Celsius
