Redoing the bathroom - Your opinions needed! *!*Update pg 6*!*

All of those colors are beautiful. I'm drawn more to the dark teal on the top left, but my second favorite is the one on the bottom right. I think it depends on how much natural light you have coming in. If you have a ton of light, you could pull off the darker color methinks. The more delicate, robins egg blue blue would probably be safer.

I think the bathroom would be great in a goldish tan with those colors adjacent to it.

I run a housecleaning company in a really nice area. So my suggestions after seeing what clients have done after the real estate agent comes in, or stager. The mirror should be replace with two, one for each sink.. (Seems to be the new thing)

The corner by the window looks naked, am thinking something spa feeling. (Will think on this more)

I love the colours you picked, easy to paint over, but very spa like...

Is there a shower in this bathroom?

Couldn't tell, are the light fixtures silver? If so new silver switch plates, and maybe new hardware on cupboards. All silver to match

As far as type of paint to use, there is a paint made for bathrooms have you tried that? When washing walls, where paint in rubbing off, use a circluar motion. It helps blends in the scrubbing.

Love Love your tub, in big corner, a tray with white rolled up towels. Again just like a spa, people want to feel lushrious (sp) in the bathroom.

Going to look at colors today ...
Still not sure what Im going to do. I tried to sit down the with the SO on the behr site and keeping his attention was like trying to school a 2 year old in math. He just didnt care

Personally, I'd avoid dark colors because they are usually pretty personal (people either really love them or REALLY don't) and you don't want someone seeing it and thinking, man, that's going to be a pain to paint over. If you want color, the person who said the more robin's egg colored spool, I think I'd agree with. Fresh, colorful and airy but not over-powering. I agree with the comments about making it spa like, you've got lots of room, so you can easily do that. A nice lush fern would be great to bring some literal life in, too.

Mainly I'm just nosy about what it is in the trash can we aren't supposed to see.

with the white fixtures in your bathroom I would go with a blue and maybe sort of a summer beach theme. I like the brushed nickel faucets and shower rod we bought for ours and I got them at grossmans bargain outlet also got our tub, toilet, and vanity there. The medicine cabinet and over head lights were the store display and they happily took that down for me.

I went with a bright green and pale yellow for our bathroom and did a jungle monkey theme I know it sounds tacky lol but i wanted a kid friendly bathroom since we only have one. we also did a brownish linoleum tile for the floor unfortuantely we now realize this was a bad idea as the tiles are coming up we plan to replace with ceramic tiles and also rip out the tub surrounds and replace with ceramic tile as well.

I picked these colors out..
The gold/yellow is going on the upper wall of the shower(it caves into the wall) and on the back wall of the toilet and to the left..

The colors are a little more ... colorful in the picture. They are more cool than what is seen

Since you are looking at colours for a future sale, avoid anything that is not neutral. Definitely avoid the turquoise & teal colours in your paint (or any other real colours). By all means get bath towels and decor items in those colours, but not anything permanent.

The taupey colours would look nice, but since you don't like them, maybe something grey or more tan? Keep it at about the same depth of colour, though, as the taupe samples.

Rather than sitting down at the computer to look at paint samples, grab hubby and head to Home Depot or Lowes and start looking there, grab a bunch of the samples and booklets to take home and select from. Tell him that if he behaves, you will let him look at the tools before you leave.

You need some sort of artwork or decor on those large expanses of wall around the tub. Looks like the base trim needs repair, and maybe even to be replaced. Decide on a style that you like: modern, country, contemporary, traditional, etc. and then look through some decorating magazines that fit that style.
