Hi! I have a couple older hens who need rehoming (not urgently): a white cochin and a buff brahma. the cochin is a sweetheart (i have picked her up and pet her all her life) while the brahma can be a bit of a bully. The cochin does not reliably lay eggs anymore but the brahma does lay eggs pretty regularly when daylight permits.

I would prefer a home that is not planning on cooking up the cochin because she is a very sweet chicken, but i have no issues with the brahma being cooked eventually as she has bullied other chickens. However, i do not know how they would act in a new flock.

If I was closer,,, I would definitely take the cochin and offer her a Forever home. ❤️
The bully, I would have to pass on. I have small Banties, that cant stand up to aggressive chickens. Last summer, I rehomed an aggressive hen (LF) to a Large Fowl flock. All went well

I am planning on visiting Illinois in a few weeks (I live in Massachusetts for school, my mom takes care of the chickens), so if I could find a home (or soup pot) for the bully, I could probably drive the cochin up to chicago and bring her to you. She (the cochin) is my favorite chicken ever and I would be very happy for her to go to someone on this website. I used to have bantams before a hawk got them, and the cochin was never mean to them.

Plus, it would be a nice excuse to visit the chicago area while i'm around!
