This is Rex I adopted him from a friend that couldn't keep him anymore and he is the best! However unlike most beardies, he doesn't poop too often but I soak him in lukewarm water every Friday and he gets mixed diet of meat, crickets, mealworms, and lettuce! I do make him work for his food and I'm currently trying to figure out what his foot problem is. Any ideas?

He's adorable! It may be metabolic bone disease, which can have several different causes. Are you supplementing his diet with calcium, and do you have the right type of uv bulbs for him?

Has he been under a UVB bulb? It's possible he developed MBD

Yes I dust all his food with calcium. I got the uvb bulb that is needed for bearded dragons and he has a cool area and a warm area. I really do want to eventually get him a bigger bioactive dessert like setup but I simply don't have that kind of money. And I'm saving up to get him a better setup. This is just what my friend had for him.

Do you ever dust with a multi vitamin? We do calcium every day, then 3 times a week we do multi vitamin. We don't feed lettuce, dark leafy greens are better. They like collards, kale and arugula. They also like bell peppers carrots and mango occasionally. We don't feed crickets here because they can cause impaction because they are so hard. We feed mealworms, super worms and dubia roaches. All the bugs get fed extra calcium too.

Oh my god, thank you so much!!! I will be sure to give him much more variety with his greens and veg. I will try to find some multi vitamin when I get new food. Your clutch is so adorable I wish I had a ball python!
