Requesting advice for converting a shed into a Coop and building a run

Pics
Question. When I scoop out the poop from the pdc poop boards daily, can I have a trash can outside the coop to discard and then throw away the entire can weekly or will it attract flies?
What do you mean by "throw away the entire can"?
Can and all into the herby curby...or plastic liner...or...???

I keep the sifted poop in kitty litter buckets in the coop storage area,
never had a problem with flies as lids are pretty tight.
Buckets get emptied into friends compost every couple weeks.
I am very blessed to have this arrangement,
otherwise I'd probably just dump it into my 15 acres of woods.

Hmmm. I could compost the poop. That’s a good idea too. I don’t know man. I’m new at this and throwing out a bunch of different ideas to see what works best. My new thing is wondering g if I should insulate the coop. I want it to be cozy for them but don’t want to provide a habitat for parasites to grow.

There's a ton of things to learn and decisions to make in the planning phase and the first year. I'd skip the insulation, more cons than pros in your climate.

I got wood to make poop boards for $15. I framed it out and glued the linoleum st night. Now I’ll have 2 2x4’ poop boards to fill with sweet pdc.

These will give me 4 feet each of roosting. Should the roosts be of equal height? Or should one roost be higher than the other?
