I brought some eggs for a sex link of th e those island reds and white leghorns and was wondering what is Male and that is female if you can tell me what was what

It was red male over silver right? The Leghorn would have to carry silver to make a sex link. Pullets hatch yellow red and males hatch yellow white. Ya know how many chicks have a yellow fluff at hatch. But again, it would have to have come from a mother carrying silver for that to work.
 
That's not a sexlink.

White Leghorns are Dominant white (I/I) on a solid background (E/E)
RIRs are black (i/i) on a red wheaten background (E^Wh/E^Wh)

All of the chicks will inherit one of those genes from each parent. They'll be (I/i) and (E/E^Wh) The white is dominant. So is the solid background. So they'll all be white on a solid background--no sexlinking.
