That truly is the sadness of our lives. We never seem to appreciate where we are.Oh yes - and wouldn't we all enjoy it even more the second time around knowing what we know now!

Last year was a truly awful year for mosquitoes. We have at least five different types here. I was swatting twenty to thirty a day! There are hooks in two bedrooms for that hammock too. Great for gross motor movement in the winter but I make the kids pick up all the LEGOs before I'll hang it up.
Pictured is the screened in porch. The mosquitoes here are worth screening against!
I try to appreciate passing moments. Remember I once said I use reminders in my phone? One of them is to appreciate the moment and be joyful. It seems like I shouldn't need a reminder for that but life is increasingly demanding and it occupies my mind with busy stuff. That truly is the sadness of our lives. What a lovely idea - sad in a way that you need reminding - but brilliant. As I continue working round the clock from home because of Covid I have started to build in structured short spaces in my day - often it is only 15 minutes - but I force myself away from my desk and outside (even in the blazing heat) so I visit the chickens and smell the roses (literally). Both of those make me joyful.I try to appreciate passing moments. Remember I once said I use reminders in my phone? One of them is to appreciate the moment and be joyful. I'm doing some well-earned chicken time too. I'm also aware of my body because the physio told me lots of sitting is no good for my lower back, so I stand and stretch every 25 minutes. It's one of those chances to keep the thinking going or switch to deliberate joyfulness. What a lovely idea - sad in a way that you need reminding - but brilliant. Poor dear. I remember how groggy my girls were when coming home from the vet (for some reason, all our pets are female.)Rex was neutered today. He has pain meds for the next 3 days and is still rather out of it from the surgery.

He must wear the cone of shame even in his kennel, because he is licking his incision. Poor boy is so confused, he has to be on the lead for the next 7 days. He hasn't gone potty on a leash since we got him 5 months ago, I hope he remembers how!![]()
