Ribh's D'Coopage

Neurological. No suggested remedy apart from euthanasia. I did some research that suggested it could be a vitamin deficiency so have been supplementing. Her neck has straightened out & she is mobile again so I'm thinking that was probably the cause.
Silly thought it may sound do you think it could be delayed stress over the move?

How did you get that?
It is transmitted via bites from deer ticks. I was unaware of a bite but the ticks can be very small and so impossible to see. About half the time the person gets a rash in which case you can catch it early. But I guess I was one of the other half.

Some lovely pictures as usual Ribh and even though I'm rude about your hens I come and look at their pictures most days.:love
You must come close to having the right sort of climate for feral chickens(?)
Their present yard is quite jungley with deep litter in multiple places. Even the more domesticated breeds are reverting to quite feral behaviours.

We're all good. I can take a joke. ;) And where would you be without @ least 1 tribe that defies all the rules? 🤣
She's obviously feeling very vunerable. It's such a lovely feeling when a sick chicken looks like they might make it.:hugs
I was worried I hadn't made the right call but now I think she's one very lucky chicken. I was kicking myself @ 1 point for not putting her down when the vet offered but looking @ her now I'm glad I didn't. It's taken her weeks but she's coming good. She does feel quite vunerable ~ especially if the other Vorwerks are around. They have been mean but the bantams are fine & Olivia has been known to hop in the cage with her. She knows there's food in there! 🤣

These girls are excellent foragers & love the deep litter places.

Freya has taken to asserting herself. Poor Oshina is right @ the bottom of the pecking order. She got down & stayed down but in the end Freya only gave her a gentle tap on the head.

Oshina is slowly gaining confidence. Her time in hospital seems to have helped, which is strange given she was away from the tribe @ night but I've noticed she is more prepared to join the food melee rather than wait till everyone's done & just eat the crumbs.

I'm sorry this is so long but skip right to the end; Sif is walking! Bit wonky but @ least not flip flopping all over the place like a stranded fish.
She looks much more interested in what's going on around her.
She reminds me of an invalid who has spent weeks in bed and is now convalescing but hasn't the strength to walk very far yet.
Go Sif! Keep convalescing! :clap

That's a wonderful walking stick 😮, I will have to see after my vertigo is gone.
Thank you Grammy. It's from a tree that was in our back yard and weighs hardly anything.

I find a staff more "stabilizing" than a walking stick. You can grab them with both hands and you can get people's attention by poking them if they are far away. . . 😜
