I forgot. Looking for one to post.......well, we're a great lot, aren't we!
You have supportive chicken friends all around the world.Sort of? I have very supportive people around me, both personally and professionally, and they're keeping me afloat.
You have wonderful looking tribe of hens.
It all sounds so terribly frustrating.Very true. I just found out they rejected my AUSTUDY claim as my MA isn't on their approved courses list. Can't think why not ~ except people hate the humanities & think they're useless. Some Universities do have approved courses but not necessarily on~line. I chose UNE as it has a super reputation with on~line students & I will give them a shout out as they've been great! Only now I'm jumping through hoops with Jobseeker.I'm spewing as my course has unofficially started; I've already bought books & downloaded e~books & done my academic training ~ or most of it; registered for my classes & introduced myself on~line ~ which I find hard even @ a distance. I chose the courses I have both for work opportunities & interest but the lovely girl I got this morning [2hours worth of nightmare for both of us] was super helpful & it sounds like the employment people will count the study as work so in the end it will be all good ~ but seriously?!!!
Not to mention their owners! You have supportive chicken friends all around the world.![]()

With Ribh's experience on my mind, I remembered that some time ago, someone on the inside told me 'no' is the standard first answer and then when peoplle push, that's when they check the rules and actually pay attention. Dastardly way to treat Aussies who are in need. Evil.It all sounds so terribly frustrating.![]()

I did some checking myself & it seems for an MA it needs to be the only pathway, or the fastest pathway, into a career. That automatically excludes most of the humanities. Only a full blown idiot would ask me to do anything involving numbers so it has to be a humanities course. Plus I want to work from home for all sorts of reasons so I am looking for careers that will give me that option. It never occurred to me AUSTUDY wouldn't be an option but what's done is done so now I have to work with it.With Ribh's experience on my mind, I remembered that some time ago, someone on the inside told me 'no' is the standard first answer and then when peoplle push, that's when they check the rules and actually pay attention. I am following the gist of this but don't understand the specifics, so what does this mean for you in practice? Do you have to change courses?I did some checking myself & it seems for an MA it needs to be the only pathway, or the fastest pathway, into a career. I'm not 100% sure yet RC. A jobseekers payment is meant for those actively looking for work but I was left with the impression my course would count & I would get the govt., payment. When you think about my situation it's insane. As for changing courses, none of the courses that I could be paid for are suitable. I am seriously numerically challenged. I quite literally can't add up a column of figures straight so all the sciences are out even if I had any interest ~ which I don't. The only science I really like is what I call *speculative science*.I am following the gist of this but don't understand the specifics, so what does this mean for you in practice? Do you have to change courses?
