Ribh's D'Coopage

ACM: I have a bit of an Etsy addiction ~ not necessarily to buy but just so I can look @ beautiful things...😉 & I thought you might like these. [I was going to show them off when you visited but as that didn't happen...]
They are Japanese tea cups. I think the glaze is fantastic. As I don't drink tea they have been repurposed. :gig

To "feed" them. 😇

Really it is just a fun way to use up the first wash of the leaves and the dregs of the cup and pot. Eventually the tea will leave a patina on the pet and form a kind of glaze.

It is part of the tea ceremony and, I think, for me anyway, helps with mindfulness and being present in the moment as you sip your tea.
I really struggle with mindfulness. Somehow life is constantly hectic and it means my mind is always full of stuff.

Lovely blanket Ribh. Looks nice and soft.
It's made from an acrylic *cake* & I find the yarn a bit coarse but some fabric softener will make a big difference to the feel of it.

Those are beautiful! My mother started out as a potter and did a lot of experimenting with glazes - the one on the right reminds me of some of her work.
:love

When we were in England I indulged in some egg cups that had a similar sort of glaze, which I was told was achieved by sprinkling salt before firing. No idea with these but I'm chronic. I will talk to anyone about their craft & ask really dumb questions but some people are just incredibly clever & creative!

WEDNESDAY WHEREVER. ☺️
The pattern for this blanket is called bunny tracks. I have been waiting on some lovely Beatrix Potter buttons [Flopsy, Mopsy & Peter] to arrive so I could finish it off. They arrived yesterday.
