And a mutant barred rock. She may molt out of this colouring ~ or not. :) The BAs & BRs are my older girls.

Did you have any trouble when you went to pick them up?
Only choosing! :D It was a very long day though. My hour trip each way turned into over 2 hours each way & I missed my return barge so had to rebook enroute. My daughter is a great navigator though so that part went really smoothly.

They are Gorgeous!!! :love I absolutely love the lavender frizzle and the GLW. That blue australorp looks pretty smug... I can totally see her being top lady of the coop!

I don’t know why but I haven’t been seeing any updates til today... sorry to have missed out on so much, but I’m all caught up now! I love how the coop turned out and the open front concept, and those shade cloth clips are genius! I have been using broken ratchet strap bits and staples to secure my tarps, it works but it’s definitely not pretty!

Oh ma ga!! I got to have a frizzle!! They are all so lovely! I especially like the last one :love
Can’t wait to hear their names! Congratulations!

Thank you so much ladies! :) It was a big exhausting day yesterday. It was pretty late when I got home & I had to let my older girls out for some free range time ~ though all they wanted to do was find out what I'd brought home & put in their new coop! And settle the new girls.

Proper bio~security is just not possible but I have done the best I can. The new girls are deemed healthy & got fed & watered & a chance to investigate the coop before I let my big girls in to put that feisty little blue bantam in her place! Oh.My. is she a piece of work! That was my daughter's 1st choice & named Pebbles & she was sweet as pie on the farm but as soon as she was let loose she rushed round like a mad thing letting everyone know she was the ants pants. The last chook my daughter chose also ended up as head honcho. I tell you, that girl has a knack! She also chose *Patricia* [& the names! Good gracious me!], the mutant barred rock. lol She seems rather a sweetie.

We didn't have quite as much choice as I was hoping for but I did get my campines! lol Not the silver laced I was hoping for, but goldies & yes, they are skittish but not as bad as I feared they might be & will probably settle in the middle order once the girls have things worked out. A Gold wyandotte too, not silver. Kate wouldn't sell me the 2nd. She deemed her not good enough for sale. Just not my day for silvers yesterday! She is absolutely tiny & I have called her Lottie [I started with Lolly 'cause she's so tiny but she is so much more obviously a Lottie.] I'd've loved some Pekins but not convinced they're a good fit in a mixed flock & only the 1 frizzle to choose from but isn't she a Bobby~Dazzler! Absolutely stunning! Kate said she'd been saving her for a special buyer. Apparently I'm an ok chook lady because she was really pleased I wanted her. Un~named so far. She also seems really sweet, too big to be picked on despite her looks but not assertive enough to be high up the pecking order.

No blue layers. *sigh* I guess the crosses could be anything. Nearly got a speckled sussex but my YD had her eye on one & Kate was warning against her so I steered away from the lot. Easiest way to avoid problems. My YD kept trying to convince me I wanted the 1 Kate called The Escape Artiste. No Thank You!

I put in the *sand pit* on a whim while we were building & because my neighbour had a sandbag he wanted to get rid off but it was the first place every chook headed ~ even before food & water. The next was my stumps. lol

Integration is going as well as can be expected. A few minor scuffles but they will sort it out pretty quickly I think. Not too much squawking. I will head out now the sun is up & see how everyone managed last night.

That was super funny. I went out on dusk to make sure everyone was on a roost for the night to find my big girls frantic to get out & head back to their old coop for the night! It took some convincing they had a new home with lots of cuddle buddies but once it was dark enough they were docile & I popped them up with the rest of the girls. Honestly. Creatures of habit, much.

lol We do have doors to go on but they will really only be needed in blustery weather so we'll pop them on when we get a chance. They will swing right back [despite John's protests :D ] so it can be open fronted in hot weather ~ of which we have much! I am more interested in getting a plant hanger up. I have nasturtiums ready to go! :)

Whew! What a day.. huh!? Well all sounds good..
As for the names.. I was this close to changing Camille’s name to Pebbles! Camille and Nina were named for my great aunts.. and since Nina didn’t make it I was gonna change Camille cuz they should be a pair.. but Camille stuck.. I’m sure to have a Pebbles in the future.. and another Nina ;).. Patricia is my middle name and my mothers first :D... and when you said “Bobby~Dazzler” I thought that was her name and was like.. no way! Bobby is my beloved Siamese cat :love... too funny!
Anyway.. great names so far and a lovely flock! So glad there doesn’t seem to be too much drama!
