Ribh's D'Coopage

Evening folks.:frow How was your day?
Hey, Bob. :frow
We are fending off a wog ~ flu epidemic on the mainland so hoping to avoid there for a bit. Busy with Home Business stuff because the Man has bought all this stuff we now have to pay for.:lau He always asks if it's ok to buy whatever ~ & I always say yes. I have no head for figures. We are crossing over from one line of business to another. I am clueless about both. Just do what I'm told. :gigNew set up is being sorted.

How are you doing? Must be warming up over there by now surely?

One step forward, two back. As the sun came up the ruckus started. I ignored it for as long as possible. Thankfully the neighbour's bedrooms are on the other boundary because the girls were having @ it ~ & they had @ it until I went out & moved the big girls into the other run. Not Pebbles because she was in a nesting box when I went out & I prefer she lay there. Everyone crowded round the gate because everyone thought they were going to get out. Um. No. Separation was the name of the game. Peace now reigns again.

lol I know, hey! I think I have upset things by letting some girls out & not others & the Big Girls thought their space had been invaded. Mind you most of the newbies actually prefer being in the coop run, the exception being the Campines, who aren't going anywhere & are not @ all happy about it. If I thought they would come home I wouldn't stress it but I just don't trust them & I am waaay too prone to guilt if something goes wrong.

Oh gosh yes! I would be too...

Okay, so yall know how my BO is broody now? Well, I might give her some babies to adopt... like a I did for Nilky:oops:
If I do I am gonna have ALL my chickens in just two years instead of spreading it out over a few years..
I’m hoping to be able to control myself... but if I go to the feed store and they have breeds that I want then ya know what’s gonna happen :D

So glad my feed store doesn’t sell chicks in tubs like the Tractor Supply does... I’ve seen those videos, and doubt I could resist either! The one store that does keep some for luring in impulse purchasers also has the WORST service, so I just avoid it completely anyway.

My favorite moment was after arguing with the insolent teenager running the till about weather or not they carried a product for 20 minutes, she then claimed they couldn’t sell it to us! We informed them that we were a Farm and yes they could... and she snidely asked if we were a “real” farm. When we pulled in we already had a full pallet of feed on the back of our truck. She didn’t grill the guy in front of us about his horse wormer or the feed they were loading into his corvette. Sheesh!

Right now my big struggle is that I borrowed an egg from the farm chickens I “liberated” to keep Chickie Hawk busy for breakfast... and there it was, A bullseye! He is doing his roosterly duty. I could set up the incubator and in 21 days have more little chicks! Husband is being good, said “no, not until the meat birds are off the heatplates, think of the electrical”... but soon, soon I could start a hatch!
