Ribh's D'Coopage

It's a cold morning when the sunrise is this still & pristine & the water gets this particular shade of blue.

The girls are looking for sunshine patches. My Campines, Ha'penny & Tuppence, are finally starting to act like chickens rather than feral monsters out of the murky depths. You know, dustbathing, laying eggs, scratching in the dirt instead of screeching their heads off & flying @ full speed into the wire. They are consistent little layers too.

I finally sorted out one of my *mystery eggs* too. I busted Suyin coming off the nest, leaving behind a long, small, brownish egg. Hoping the size will improve with practice as those Favorelles are not small girls! They should be able to pop out something larger than a bantam sized egg.

Hepzibah has never stopped laying [except for broody moments] & lays a large tinted egg first thing most mornings. She's also turned into something of a shrew. Who would have thought it. She was such a quiet, thoughtful girl when she first arrived.

Well they look very sweet when they're sunbathing.
They do. And they are so pretty it's hard to believe what dreadful little harridans they really are! At least I can't complain they're dull. Never a dull moment with those two!

Oh! I tried to take some photos yesterday. This is the best one. I couldn't get all three together :barnie even though I tried for a while! Mary looks quite purple, not sure why. Maybe the new feathers are doing something tricky with the light.
