Ribh's D'Coopage

It used to stress me when they went up the trees. I leave them up there now if they don't come down for supper. Young Rip spent weeks living in a tree just outside my front door.
If it wasn't for complaints from the main house, I would leave those who wanted to roost in the trees up there.
I almost don't want to know the answer to this - but what is there to complain about a chicken up a tree? I guess if you walk under it you get pooped on. Is that the issue?

There is night predation [owls are night hunters]~ & 1st thing in the morning when they come down can be dodgy. Things like foxes will wait @ the foot of a tree for a bird to come down.

Oh yes, I totally get the worry. It was the big house complaint I couldn't fathom - but I have read all about it now.
