Tragedy almost drove me away. When Daisy, the greatest hen ever, passed, I almost left this website. I had no support network at the time and all these happy chicken stories just made me bitter. I actually walked away from the site for a while. Fortunately, I found my way back.
I understand this. Losses can be very hard to take even with support.
 
Shad, do chickens beaks get longer as they age? Young birds seem to have shorter beaks. But maybe it has nothing to do with age and more to do with the individual bird and his or her habits.
A chickens beak grows throughout their life. They don't grow as fast as say toenails but if a chicken can't wear the beak down by pecking etc, this often leads to deformaties.
