Ribh's D'Coopage

That must be so frustrating. I can't imagine. :hugs
Yes it is. I have the cat run set up with different levels and sunning spots and shelves on the wall in the house for them to climb up and down and imagined them all playing together. Nope. Even Noodle and Belle, who share a room, only tolerate each other. 😢

The cats "take turns" being out around the house and run and being locked in their bedrooms. Lacy lives in Cas's room. So Lacy will be out one day and Noodle and Belle out together the next.

Not ideal I know but they all have big sunny windows and food, water and litter boxes.
It would be so much nicer if they all got along and were cuddly girls, but none of them are. :hit That's why I am so envious of your Eowyn Bob. 😍

Before Blossom, Charly and Yasmine lived here with me. They needed to be apart more often than together. I was grateful for the spare beedroom and the sleepout.

Yes, my thinking is that I will fence them off the shrubs for at least a year to let the shrubs establish themselves. It may not work but is worth a try.
I don't like that the Chicken Palace opens onto a wide open meadow. I mean I love the meadow and it has a bit portion that in unmown for wildflowers, but it means they are very exposed to predators from the air. I will use fence to protect against the foxes who hang out in the wildflower meadow catching mice, but today even with me sitting there it was a bit scary how the hawks just circle overhead (presumably also looking for mice).
That sounds lovely RC.

I wonder if there is something you could move from place to place for them to use as emergency cover in the mean time? Maybe a big curved piece of hardware cloth with fabric over it to duck under if a hawk is near. 🤔

P.S. Have you contacted at your local plant society for shrub ideas?

I have a weeping mulberry that the chooks love to rest under.

Of course no-one was there when I took the photo.

Oh dear. How difficult for you.
Mine are not so bad.
I have one who gets on well with everyone, and everyone gets on with him. He is the book-shredder.
I have two who hate each other - one bullies the other. The bullied ones is huge but a scaredy-cat.
And I have one who is half the size of any of the others and she picks fights with everyone but is hard to take seriously because she is so tiny so it never amounts to anything serious.
Cats are complicated!

I'm glad you have a system but that would be a tough way to have to live with your cats. As you said, you envision so much more. :hugs :hugs
