Yes, welcome to Ribh's circus! You really don't have to leave home for great entertainment...

When I'm tired & not so well it's not fun but generally I don't really mind.

I wormed everyone this morning. That was fun. When they figured out those wormed were let out to free range most of the girls became hugely co~operative ~ Morrigu excepted. There's one in every tribe.

I understand those days, they definitely aren't much fun!

I've been using bread...My older girls will kill for grainy bread. The Vorwerks are skittish, the bantams terrified of being trampled, & Morrigu is so feral it takes ages to coax her into the pen. Meanwhile I have to try & prevent everyone else from escaping.

The majority of what my ladies get as their "dinner" which is really a bowl of treats is scratch, except I "trick" them and it is actually feed scratch. Perhaps there is something similar available? That way it is a treat, but actually good for them. What I buy is from Scratch and Peck Feed, which I just found available in bulk a one of my grocery stores. I do mix in extra bits too like blueberries or a bit of leftover corn, but it isn't needed, they know their yellow bowl!

So I’m going to post this on Ribh’s thread (I hope she doesn’t mind! ), simply because @Aussie-Chookmum has some catching up to do on @BY Bob ‘s thread.

So I took my son to the Hawkesbury Show today, and the weather was just perfect! He went on his very first roller-coaster and had a pretty good time. We also saw lots of chooks, cats and a sheep being shorn. I’ll post some pics as I saw Vorwerks, a prize-winning Australorp and a hen that looked she had Barnevelder in her. There were even Frizzled Polishes!
